PHILOSOPHY
Living on the edge of the current paradigm shift allows us as designers a unique opportunity.
We have the chance to be the driving force behind redefining social responsibility. Standing alone, each of us is capable of making a difference. But with the increasingly collaborative nature of architecture as a profession, we can now achieve so much more, together. As we take a holistic approach, not just with the design of one building, but with our communities, we have the chance to redefine the boundaries of design. To innovate where we, as a global community, are sorely hurting the most.

Instead of focusing solely on beauty or function, design should embrace the possibility of becoming something so much greater. Learning to infuse courage and idealism into a design brings an optimistic facet to a project. One that can transcend beauty and function alone, bringing new purpose and direction to a design problem that can benefit the community at large.
Realizing the potential of design to not only mitigate the current issues, but to provide a better world for future generations is how we will move the profession forward. Together, we can move past the “cradle to grave” approach, further incorporate the “cradle to cradle” approach and strive to create the potential for future stewards to “reincarnate” the world we leave behind as something greater than our generation can ever imagine.
